Media of the Month

This month I’ve chosen a medium I seldom use, pastels. I’ve finally plucked up the courage to have a go after seeing Fiona Carvell’s work. A former Artist of the Month of mine. I doubt I will become a master at it but it does make a refreshing change.

It seems a lot of artists refer to coloured pencils as pastels. I don’t and am intending to use soft pastels and possible a few oil pastels later on this month. I might even have a go at mixing the two. The area I find most difficult of all is in creating detail. The fine lines that other achieve just seems to elude me but below are a couple more examples from this month. I hope you like them.
